Murder by Death

I thought of this book before I remembered Chocolat so I'm sticking with it (plus that allowed me to use Chocolat for best food novel).

Historical mystery (not sure on accuracy of historical details) that centres on the age when chocolate was just making its entrance in England.  Each chapter includes a excerpt from the male MC's mother's cocoa journal and a very rich, very chocolate recipe.  I've made the chocolate shortbread recipe and it's insanely delish.

(Also not a bad mystery either!)
