I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
This book started out a little to intense and depressing for me, as I usually like my protagonist to be a little lighter and more humorous. But the story progressed nicely and hooked me with interesting characters and a good mystery, one where I didn't see the culprit until they were revealed.
I'm not certain I'll read the next one as this is definitely a heavier series than I normally go for, but I'm definitely going to take a look at the next one.
