I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
Task 1: Write a silly poem or limerick poking fun at the fiction character of your choice.
Not going to lie, I totally bribed MT and got him to write this one for me. Nobody, and I do mean nobody wants to read my efforts at poetry. Since points are going to charity, I don't feel bad about this at all.
The heroine of England, my favourite Jane,
(you are guessing "Austen", but don't complain);
We're talking the Queen of the high teas,
cakes, and gossip, with murders to please;
She may be an old bitty with blue eyes,
but add cyanide or yew berries, and someone dies;
A cool, calculating mind while others are ditzy,
It's dear Miss Marple, from the Queen Agatha Christie.
(any punctuation errors are mine - I really do suck with the poetry thing.)
