I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
 
Oh wow was this bad. It was just childishly written, the characters were incredibly vapid and the plot was, I don't know, it might have actually been good but the rest was so bad I didn't care. It felt convoluted and overly dramatic and farcical. I'm not even going to start in on how far from reality Brown's idea of police procedure is.
Anyway, I gave it one star because I love the Walker Boone character and the 17th street gang, but then deducted 1/2 star because Boone kept calling the MC blondie.
