I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
The editing inconsistencies in the time line in addition to the amount of repetition throughout the story, along with a plot overrun with melodrama made this is one of the more disappointing books in the series.
I've always struggled with the author's style in terms of dialog, in this and her other series (which I've long since given up on); I think she's trying to make the MC sound wry and humorously sarcastic but only ever succeeds once in awhile; mostly the MC just sounds like a grumpy goat. Add the repetition and the poor editing and I should have given up on this one. But I love the setting and I can gripe all I want about the dialog, but the writer knows her stuff about museums and history and knows how to make that interesting. It's what kept me reading until the end and what might bring me back to the next book.
