I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
Somehow, along the way of making these posts, my credit line disappeared: This TBR Thursday meme is the brainchild of Moonlight Reader.
The only new books in the post this week were future Christmas presents for friends and family, so had I not hit the bookstores on my long weekend (3 of them: new, used and airport) this would have been a TBR reducing week. Alas, the long weekend was with the entire family of in-laws, so had I not gone to the bookstores I'd likely have gone mad instead. ;)
Books read: 3
Books bought: 5
Total TBR (physical): 160
Monk's Hood - Ellis Peters I was trying to find hardcovers of the Ellis Peters books for my mom (HUGE fan) but bought this MMP for me to read. After I read the first book in the series.
Science for Life: Using the Latest Science to Change our Lives for the Better - Brian Clegg: I found this one in the airport bookstore and bought it on a whim after a weekend of listening to my loved ones regurgitate with authority the most erroneous crap imaginable. Supposed to be the straight facts and just the facts on a multitude of topics from diet to environment to the human mind. Plus, I love science.
Going to Hell in a Hen Basket: An Illustrated Dictionary of Modern Malapropisms - Robert Alden Rubin: My husband spotted this at the bookstore and I could not not buy it. Word play. Must have.
Around The World In Eighty Martinis: The Logbook Of A Remarkable Voyage Undertaken By Gustav Temple And Vic Darkwood - Gustav Temple,Vic Darkwood: I have absolutely no idea. This could suck or be hysterical, but what the hell?
Death Comes to Pemberley - P.D. James: Because this seems to be an all or nothing book for so many people and I've been picking it up and putting it back down for years. I finally just bought the damn thing and I'll read it and be done with it.
Happy weekend to everyone!
