I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
After a self-imposed hiatus (to avoid burn-out from back-to-back reading) of several months, I picked up Magic Slays and did exactly what I thought I would do: devoured it.
I liked this one more than the last one; the crises in this book felt more realistic (relatively speaking) than Kate taking on a goddess 'mano e mano' so to speak. I also loved that she and Curran stopped fighting long enough to enjoy each other's company once in awhile (the dinner scene was awesome!).
Kate comes close to my ideal for a fictional heroine. I'm just going to give in and buy the rest of the books. Bring on the binge reading!
