I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
A short story that takes place the week before Christmas; I'd bought this back in December and just ran out of time to read it and came across it yesterday while I was bored at work.
A quick, fun read for fans of the series; I think you might be able to read it as a stand-alone, but I suspect it would leave the reader feeling unfulfilled in regards to character backgrounds and back stories.
It's a full mystery with Sarah Booth running around trying to clear friend/partner's husband of a crime that may or may not have been committed. It's very fast paced and the resolution is rather abrupt, but it is a short-story so expecting a more drawn-out denouement would be a bit unfair.
I enjoyed it for a quick reunion with some of my favourite characters before the next full-length novel comes out in May. Also, the end of this short story has implications for Sarah Booth in this next book - at least I hope it does! Finally!!!!
