Murder by Death

I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.

Merry Christmas everyone!  I hope all of us celebrating the holiday received loads of good books!  And for those who don't celebrate Christmas - I hope you got loads of new books too!

Since Christmas fell on Thursday this year, it coincides neatly with TBR Thursday, so here's my holiday haul and the newest editions to my TBR:

Persuasion - Jane Austen:  I've read this one already, but this is the leather-bound edition put out by Barnes and Noble and it's just gorgeous.  I love it.

84 Charing Cross Road - Helene Hanff:  After reading so many good things by so many of you, this one found its way onto my book list and I am very pleased I received it.

Tales of Two Cities - Jonathan Conlin:  Also a book I found from recommendations here on BookLikes.

Small Space Organics - Josh Byrne: a gift from a brother-in-law and a title I've never seen before.  I have a small experiment I call a garden in the back and I stick to organic ways of doing things so this book is a great fit.  I leafed through it yesterday and it looks very comprehensive and easy to use, so I'm looking forward to digging into it.. so to speak.

What I Was Doing While You Were Breeding: A Memoir - Kristin Newman:  Another BL find - for the title alone I had to read this one.  Hope the rest of it is as entertaining.

Little Leon: One Pot: Naturally fast recipes (Leon Minis) - Leon Restaurants Ltd:  I do my best cooking when I'm limited to one pot - I don't have the attention span to juggle more than one thing cooking at a time.  The husband put this one in my stocking, probably in the hopes of expanding my repertoire.

Hummus Bros. Levantine Kitchen: Delicious, Healthy Recipes Inspired by the Ancient Mediterranean - Hummus Bros. Levantine Kitchen:  Yodamom raved about this one just in time for me to sneak it onto my list and I'm very, very happy it made it's way under our tree.  There are a LOT of great sounding recipes in this one and it's a great looking cookbook too.

The husband actually had some fun with the book presents this year - he hid them all over the house and used bookmarks (I have a ton of them from BookDepository) as clues of where I could find them.  It was crazy fun, and even the cats got into the spirit of helping me search.  The hardest to find: the one he hid in my library of course (it was in the cat food bin).

Happy New Year!  What books did you get under your tree?
