I read cozy and historical mysteries, a bit of Paranormal/UF, and to mix it up, I read science and gardening books on occasion.
I enjoyed this book quite a bit more than I thought I would, based on recommendations/reviews by fellow cozy lovers. I found the characters to be likeable, although the protagonist was a bit proud - humility is a bit more attractive in a character, in my opinion. You want your protagonist to be confident, but not arrogant.
Sense of place was excellent and I had no trouble imagining the farm community in South Carolina. I figured out whodunit early on in the story but I still enjoyed reading through to the end. I'm looking forward to the next one in the series.
